PAHSCI is a three-year instructional coaching initiative; program implementation began in July, 2005.

2005 – 2006

  • The PAHSCI model is launched at 26 schools within 16 school districts across Pennsylvania. 
  • Instructional coaches are hired by participating school districts with PAHSCI support.
  • RFA begins research and evaluation of the PAHSCI model.
  • PLN and Foundations begin implementation of a three-year plan for providing ongoing professional learning opportunities at centralized and regional courses and mentor team school/district visits.
  • Foundations trains teacher leaders in “The Art of Coaching.”
  • Statewide Networking Meetings are created to provide participants with opportunities for collegial sharing and professional learning.
  • Leaders in education reform are invited to join the PAHSCI Advisory Board.
  • TPF begins ongoing work with schools and partners to manage PAHSCI’s financial aspects.
2006 – 2007
  • RFA publishes Year One Report and presents findings at meetings and conferences.
  • Partners and PAHSCI Statewide Management plan towards sustainability and expansion of the PAHSCI model.
  • Advisory Board meets for the first time in Harrisburg.
  • PAHSCI Statewide Management extends outreach to various stakeholders.
  • Advisory Board meets with educational consultants to offer guidance on strengthening the Initiative.
  • PDE launches the Statewide Collaborative Coaching Board bringing together all active instructional coaching initiatives within Pennsylvania.
  • First annual Administrators’ Retreat offers leadership teams professional development opportunity.
  • Regional Networking Meetings are created to provide participants with opportunities for collegial sharing and professional learning more locally.
  • CDDRE delivers quantitative mid-year report on student outcomes.
  • MPR Associates, Inc., coordinates quantitative and qualitative data collection and analyses.
  • PDE supports data collection via 4Sight benchmark assessments.
2007 – 2008
  • Partners and PAHSCI Statewide Management implement sustainability and expansion plans.
  • RFA publishes Year Two Report and presents findings at meetings and conferences.
  • Partners and PAHSCI Statewide Management work towards ensuring stability of enabling conditions in participating schools. 
  • Advisory Board continues to meet and offer guidance on strengthening the Initiative. 
  • Statewide and Regional Networking Meetings continue to provide a forum for collegial sharing and professional learning.
  • PAHSCI participant leadership teams meet at second annual Administrators’ Retreat.
  • MPR delivers final report based on RFA’s qualitative findings and CDDRE’s quantitative findings.
